Remove and Replace your Doll's Wig
Look at your doll's hair and you will see that it will be attached by one of two means. It will be rooted directly into the scalp as is the case with most vinyl type dolls, or it will be in the form of a wig.
If it is rooted, cut the hair off as close to the scalp as you possible can to create a smooth surface to glue the new wig onto.
If it is an applied wig, try to loosen one area, and then carefully pull the wig off from that point. Some will come off easily and others will require a good bit of patience to work them loose.
Once the old hair is removed, you can measure the doll's head as outlined above.
When you have purchased the correct size of wig, stretch both sides out and over the dome of the doll's head. Position it so that it is attractive and even. If you want the wig to be permanent, you can glue it into place by lifting the edges, starting at the front and placing a small amount of glue under the cap. You can use household glue or carefully use a small blob of hot glue. I ususally repeat this process on each side over the ear, and again at the very base of the back.
We have a large assortment of doll wigs in both modacrylic and human hair styles, suitable for reborn baby dolls through to the most elaborate victorian beauty. See our wigs here
